The bite was quirky and we had to switch around a bit. Topwater was just not happening so we had a ball catching about 15 different kinds of bottom fish. We caught five dorado (mahi-mahi), Spanish mackerel, orange snapper, and I even caught (and released) a rooster fish. Even if we hadn't had such a great catch, the trip would have been worth it -- incredible scenery, a comfortable boat, and a great crew. We saw turtles, dolphins, and lots of bird life as well. "Just great Dorado fishing in Early January. Big fish from 30-40 lb. and the morning "bite" was really good. Capt. Regis is a super fisherman and great captain. Top grade tackle and lures. The new 25 foot Panga, THUNNUS, has walk-through center seats with two swivel seats and a flat floor for clients. Very comfortable, and fast, with the quiet new 100 Yamaha 4 stroke engine. The boat is completely cleaned after every trip. I highly recommend some trips with Capt. Regis and the THUNNUS. "My husband and I have gone fishing with Regis about 6 times since 2008. He is a local and knows every fishing spot, every surfing spot, every person out on the water, and everything there is to know about fishing in Sayulita. He has customized our trips to allow me to surf on breaks that are more easily accessible by boat, and we even saw whales on our last trip in February. His boat is large, shaded, and comfortable, and the beer is ice cold! The best way to see the coast is by boat, so I highly recommend contacting Regis and getting out on the water for a day.."

"We, Noel and Martin traveled 11 hours from the UK to fish with Regis and his crew. I researched charter fishing before arrival and he seemed the best and indeed he was! Thunnus his super panga boat is the best I saw in Sayulita, comfortable, fully certified, insured and with good quality equipment . By all means bring your own gear, but he has excellent equipment of his own and invests in new tackle all the time He always has extra crew-big thank you to Tio Pepe and Fernando for your eagle eyes, cast net skills and deck support. He uses paypal so booking is secure, easy and upfront. He is an excellent guide who will allow you to use your own equipment, but he does not fish for you. He will assist you to hone your skills and will offer advice where necessary. He is not the cheapest but you get what you pay for - great value and quality with no skimping on distance traveled, fishing locations and fuel used. He uses live bait, dead bait and lures so you get the best of all fishing techniques. I saw many just using lures who were not as successful-That says it all!
